What ever happened to "game canceled due to rain"?

Whatever happened to "game canceled due to rain"?

I thought for sure that Chay's soccer game would be canceled due to the rain but apparently that only happens with baseball. I told Chay that there was no way they would be playing but since we didn't receive a call about a cancellation, Chay talked me into going to the game. Was I surprised to see that the game was on! I wasn't prepared for sitting out in the rain so I enjoyed the game from the comfort of the Envoy.

Chay was wet after the game but didn't mind a bit (that is rain water on his face not perspiration).

Dave picked up Alana EARLY this morning on his way home from work and she spent the day with us as we did errands, listened/watched Conference, created things in the kitchen and waited for Judy to arrive. We're still waiting for Zak and his friend to arrive, I hope they're okay.

(and yes, the image of Blade in the background is typical of him) Nicole and Alana make gaucamole from scratch, and we worked together to make chicken enchiladas and pecan caramel spiders. I'll have to get a picture from Alana on the spider thing (no, Alana is not "on" the spider thing, she has a picture of it). A halloween version of "turtles". I had no idea how difficult it would be to find black licorice shoestrings. I don't recall them being hard to find in Canada when I was growing up. Maybe they just aren't a hot item anymore. But we discovered that they are a crucial part for the spider legs. Cutting up the thicker black licorice just doesn't cut it. The taste however was just fine.

It has been a long day for me but nothing that my Mom and sisters don't experience on a regular basis. I did remember to go into work yesterday at 5:00pm but I did not anticipate that I would driving home at 4:00am.

I guess that's what happens when your children get older...that's why we are in BMX...when it rains they can't race because the course gets too slippery...maybe you still check that one out.

Your place looks like that was the place to be today.
So much happening and waiting for everyone else to arrive.

Welcome to the blog...I'm impressed...two entries already.

Looking forward to seeing what the spiders look like. Try watching football - they play in sunshine, rain or snow. We have been watching games wearing winter coats, toques, and gloves. Adding to that we had the heat warmer packs in our gloves and shoes. Oh, yah, we definitely had hot chocolate to drink (take our own, of course). All three boys (Cr, Bl, Tr) football teams are doing well and the season could go until mid-November. BRRRR. . . .

I've decided, we definitely won't do football.

Chay doesn't look phased by the rain at all! Good job staying warm and dry in the vehicle!!! I think i would have done the same!

That guacamole looks delicious, and Blade is SOO cute!! I can't wait to see more pictures of him and hear more stories!! When alana called me the other day I was soo confused... "is that a child i hear running around?? it sounds like a 3 year old" lo and behold.... It was!!

It's been SOOO long since I've visited you in Salt Lake! (4 years exactly) Last time we were there was for conference a few months before Brylie was born.

It's been TOO Long!

the other sad thing about the rain was that it was not good for your cell reception.."lemon juice.. no LEMON mom"- but everything still turned out delicous!

I still can't believe that Chay had that game in the rain.. i was with you in thinking it would be cancelled.

at least he had fun
